Behind them is the primary or "British" school that Jane and I went to as children.
Filename: z116
This must have been taken in the early 1920's. It is in the yard of the primary school my mother attended and is a 'class' photo. In case you cannot make her out, my mum is on the far left of the back row.
Filename: z117
This is aunt Ada on the left, my mum and a woman I cannot identify. It is interesting that she is wearing a blazer with a badge. I am not able to associate it with anything.

It shows them sitting on the remains of the old mill dam at Birks, just outside the village.
The girl sitting on my mother's lap should be Jane - but it does not look like her so I have to wonder if she was with others who were out with them. A puzzle.

Uncle Alex takes a snooze by the fire in my parents house.
This must have been in the early 1950's as the room was changed by removing the cupboards you see beside him. The windows were removed and a bay-window installed.
